Origami Bow

This cute origami bow is easy to make and it a great decoration for a present or card.

You will need scissors and a glue stick, and a piece of square paper.

First, fold the paper in half, unfold and fold in half again to make a cross through the middle of the paper.
Next, fold the paper in half to make a triangle, unfold and fold again.  When you unfold your paper you should have another cross through the middle of the paper, this time from each corner.
Make sure the paper is positioned so that the creases you have made look like image 5.

Fold the paper by gently pushing together the cross shape to make a diamond.

Fold down a small triangle from the top, then open out the paper.  There should now be a small square in the centre of the paper.

Gently pinch the sides of the small square in the middle of the paper, as in image 12.  Then take two of the creases between your index finger and thumb as shown in image 14 and gently push.  Do the same with the other two creases until the square folds inwards and you are able to fold it flat, as shown in images 15 and 16.

Now, fold down two flaps from the top of the diamond shape, turn over and fold over the remaining two flaps as shown in images 17 and 18, then unfold by pulling the bottom of the diamond outwards in order to make the shape shown in image 20.

With scissors, carefully cut along the edges of both the diamond shapes.

Fold over one of the diamond shapes as shown in image 23.

Fold in the edges to make the bow shape, moving the diamond flaps out of the way to do so, as shown above.

Now glue the diamond flaps together and cut down the middle to make two triangles.  Your bow is taking shape!

Fold in the sides of the triangles as shown in the picture above.

Once both sides of the triangles are folded in, fold out the inner edge of the triangles so that they slightly overlap the fold you just made.

Turn the bow over and fold the points in and tuck into the square in the middle of the bow.

Finally, cut the shape you want the tail of the bow to be and voilà!
